George Clinton Lucas, son of Dewitt Clinton Lucas and Jemima Forsythe, was born Feb. 8, 1874 at Hopeville, Clarke Co., Iowa and died Nov. 24, 1957 at Maryville, Nodaway Co., Missouri. He married Esther Jane Vanatta May 23, 1895 at Hopeville, Clarke Co., Iowa. She was born Jan. 24, 1878 in Iowa Co., Iowa, daughter of James William Vanatta and Eliza Ann Bell, and died June 11, 1958 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
