John was the son of John Baker Wyman (1860 - 1937) and Susan B McCollum (1862 - 1941). He married on June 1909 to Miss Daisy Briggs. The cause of his death was a fall from a windmill that he was repairing in the Railroad Company's Yard at Marmoth.
