Anna Malinda Shepherd, daughter of Jesse Shepherd and Sarah Mariah Lathrop,was born June 27, 1872 in Illinois and died July 8, 1930 at Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa. The death date on the gravestone appears to be an error as her death notice appeared in the Bedford Times-Republican, Thursday, July 10, 1930 stating that she had died the preceding Tuesday (July 8th) and that her funeral was July 10th. She married James Eslie Watkins Oct. 4, 1888 at Roseville, Warren Co., Illinois. He was born Mar. 8, 1869 at Sterling, Whiteside Co., Illinois, son of Jehiel Gregory Watkins and Frances Munger or Monger, and died April 19, 1964 at Chillicothe, Livingston Co., Missouri. Their daughter, Dimple Agatha, was born June 20, 1909 near Blockton, Taylor Co., Iowa and died July 19, 1931 at Chillicothe, Livingston Co., Missouri.
