Hans was born 16th January 1813 in Opdahl (Uvdal), Rollag parish, Buskerud county, Norway. Parents: Kittel Poulsen Galager and Bergit Hansdatter. Married 16th May 1842 to Haldis Knudsdatter. (Parish records for Rollag)
