Ornan Wright Ormsby, son of Luther Ormsby and Ann Hathaway Carpenter, was born Dec. 6, 1840 in McHenry Co., Illinois and died Oct. 1, 1916 at Scott City, Scott Co., Kansas. He married 1) Clementine Wallace Nov. 1866 and 2) Helen Mae Hall July 19, 1874 at Dyersville, Dubuque Co., Iowa. He enlisted Aug. 21, 1862 and served as a private in the 28th New York Battery and was mustered out July 31, 1865. Death notice available Taylor County, Iowa gen web site.
