Thomas Dodge Hall was born June 27, 1819, in New Hampshire and died August 17, 1908 at Olsburg, Pottawatomie County, Kansas. The remains were eventually returned to Bedford, Taylor County, Iowa for burial. The original stone, flat on the ground, is visible to the left of the later memorial.
