Thomas Jefferson McCracken, son of Robert McCracken and Elizabeth Coggeshall, was born Jan. 12, 1832 in Randolph Co., North Carolina and died July 23, 1903 near Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Elizabeth Ann Lewis July 30, 1854 in Howard Co., Indiana. She was born Dec. 27, 1836 near Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., Kentucky,daughter of William Lewis and Mary Jane Van Meter, and died Aug. 21, 1916 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
