(est. DOB Sept. 29, 1869; a WPA listing reportedly uses 1870 for the DOB year and April 25, 1894. Neither of those dates are consistent with the headstone inscription dates and aged information. Her obituary refers to her death being on a Thursday, which would be consistent with April 26, 1894. Using her aged information the DOB year of 1869 would appear to be more accurate than the WPA listing of 1870.)

The top portion of the monument for Annie Easton Gossick is broken from the base and the inscription side was buried inscription-side down into the ground. The inscription portion was turned over to reveal the inscription for the photo shown.

Previous Evergreen cemetery transcriptions had the name as "Annie E Gossick"; her 1894 Fairfield Tribune obituary provided that her maiden name was Easton.

Evidently she was the first wife of John C Gossick who is buried in Evergreen cemetery in 2nd.081 with what would be his second wife, Eva Teeter Gossick. His 1934 obituary doesn't mention this marriage, but they were married February 13, 1889 and evidently did not have any children at the time of her death, so her omission from his obituary wouldn't be all that unusual. Any clarification would be appreciated.
