Marie Clarice Alvord, daughter of George Washington Alvord and Emma Catherine Wire, was born May 8, 1904 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa and died April 28, 1999 in Red Oak, Montgomery Co., Iowa. She married 1) Fred Homer Lewis June 7, 1922 at Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa and 2) William Franklin Johnston Nov. 23, 1925 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa. He was born Feb. 7, 1889 in Holt Twp., north of Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa, son of Emerson Jefferson Johnston and Mary Catherine Richardson, and died April 5, 1944 in Maryville, Nodaway Co., Missouri.
