James N. Marble, son of Abner and Hannah Marble, was born in Sept. 1837 in Ohio and died Aug. 13, 1913 in Elliott, Montgomery Co., Iowa. He enlisted as a Private in Co. B, 96th Illinois Infantry Regiment Sept. 5, 1862 and was mustered out June 10, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. Source: Illinois: Roster of Officers and Enlisted Men.
