Henry, a resident of Black Hawk County, Iowa, enlisted in Company K. Iowa 6th Cavalry Regiment, on Oct. 19, 1864. He enlisted at the rank of private, and was promoted to Full Sadler on Jun 3, 1865. He mustered out on Oct. 17, 1865 at Sioux City, Iowa.
