Geneva Ellen Houchin, daughter of Franklin Lewis Houchin and Francena Ethel Meredith, was born Sept. 24, 1922 north of Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa and died Dec. 19, 1989 in Corning, Adams Co., Iowa. The death date on her tombstone seems to be an error as her obituary appeared in the Lenox Time Table Jan. 2, 1990. She married Curtis Wayne Smith Nov. 8, 1952 at Huntsville, Madison Co., Arkansas. He was born June 12, 1914 in Union Twp. Adams Co., Iowa, son of Alpheus Smith and Laura Minnard, and died Feb. 25, 1992 in Corning, Adams Co., Iowa.
