Hiram Barton, son of Thomas Barton and Mary Burrows, was born June 17, 1837 in Ohio and died Mar. 7, 1916 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Mary Ellen Cooper Nov. 30, 1866 in Henry Co.,Iowa.
