Mary Chassie Hurt, daughter of George Washington Hurt and Alice Murtrude Early, was born Feb. 22, 1889 near Greenville, Greene Co., Tennessee, and died Oct. 17, 1949 in Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa. She married 1) Chester Lewis Valentine Jan. 26, 1910 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa and 2) Lewis Beaver Harkless April 13, 1940. Chester Lewis Valentine, son of Andrew Douglas Valentine and Elizabeth Watson, was born July 6, 1887 near Beatrice, Gage Co., Nebraska and died Feb. 19, 1939 near Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa.
