William Henry Wire, son of Christian Ludwig Wire and Maria Wilhelmina Stebener, was born Feb. 28, 1836 in Baltimore Co., Maryland and died Sept. 1, 1918 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married 1) Margaret Murphy and 2) Caroline Josephine Finnekohl. She was born Jun 15, 1848 in Germany, daughter of Henry and Marie Finnekohl, and died Mar. 13, 1926 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. Their son, Amos Wire, was born Jan. 17, 1893 in Vernon, Van Buren Co., Iowa and died Sept. 7, 1918 in France.
