Philip A. Clouse was born May 1835 in Hesse Cassel, Germany and died May 27,1905 near Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married 1) Sarah Ann Bogar Jan. 5, 1858 in Atchison Co., Missouri and 2) Mary Jane Mosier. Mary Jane Mosier, daughter of David Mosier and Mary Shepherd, was born Jan. 19, 1844 in Illinois and died Feb. 3, 1912 in Washington Twp., Taylor Co., Iowa. Iowa, Select Deaths & Burials, 1850-1990 gives her birthplace as Illinois. 1900 and 1910 federal census give her birthplace as Indiana.
