He married Ina Lou Shafar Jan. 14, 1950 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. She was born June 19, 1928 in Rodman, Palo Alto Co., Iowa, daughter of Fay Leslie Shafar and Naomi Ellen Hedrick, and died Oct. 3, 2013 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
