Marion was born 31 May 1909 in Nebraska and died 6 March 1971. His wife Iva June (Burkett) was born 6 June 1920 in Iowa and died 24 September 2005. They are buried beside Marion's mother, Helga (Schmidt) Heuwinkel. Marion's father was Andreas "Andy" Hackstock and Marion took the name Heuwinkel when his mother remarried.
