Aug 24, 1928" son of Jonathan & Sarah (Godwin) Godden Obituary: George W. Godden, son of Jonathan and Sarah Godden was born November 10, 1852 at Terre Haute, Indiana and departed this life 3 miles west of Logan, Iowa of August 24, 1928. At the age of 1 years he moved with his parents to Boone County, Iowa and at the age of 17 he again moved with the family to near Logan and he resided at the late home 45 years. He was united in marriage to Barbara Darting in 1871 and his wife died July 3, 1905. On March 6, 1906 he married Mrs. Mary Finley who survives him. He is also survived by one brother, Sion of North Platte, Nebraska and besides a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Graves of Logan at the home at 2 o'clock Sunday August 25. Burial in Frazier Cemetery.
