[Email]The Clinton Herald April 15, 1981 The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Clinton Memorial Chapel of Clinton Memorial Funeral Home for Robert W. "Bud" Duhr, 57, of 2537 Camanche Ave. He died Tuesday in his home. The Rev. Peter Anderson of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Robert Burns Jr., Maynard Mensinger, Delbert Carrier, Ricky, Brian and Jeffrey Mussman. Mr. Duhr was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Clinton, to Jurgen and elsie Schultz Duhr. He married Peggy Adkisson Nov. 13, 1945, in Clinton. He was a lifelong resident of Clinton and was educated in Clinton schools. He was a forklift operator for Chicago North Western Transportation Co. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clerks. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jurgen of Clinton; a daughter, Joyce of Somerste, N.J.; and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Evelyn) Anderson of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Peggy Joyce Duhr, 83, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010, at her residence. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, 4 to 7p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Peggy was born May 6, 1927, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Earl and Clara (Williams) Adkisson. She graduated from New Sharon High School in 1944. Peggy married Robert Duhr on November 13, 1945, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. She worked for Pearson’s Drive- Thru Cleaners for many years. She also was a homemaker. Peggy belonged to Zion Lutheran Church.
Peggy enjoyed doing her craft work and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s musical performances. She appreciated her many good neighbors and friends over the years.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Joyce Duhr, of Franklin Park, NJ; son, Jurgen (Debra) Duhr, of Clinton; 2 grandchildren, Timothy , of Washington, D.C. and Elizabeth, of Vestal, New York and 1 sister-in-law Joyce Adkisson, Marshalltown, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 2 brothers . Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund or Sarah Harding Senior Living.
