[Email]August Kahl passed away at his home in Denison Sunday morning May 25, at 8 o'clock following an illness of a 1 1/2 years. August Ferdinand Kahl was born June 8, 1864 at Hohenfelds, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of Christian Kahl and Henrietta Koch.
The deceased came to this county in December 1891 and March 25, 1892 was united in marriage with Miss Catharine Stuehr in Avoca. Three children were born to this union, Anna, Mrs. Carl Schmidtmann of Denison; Herman, of near Buck Grove; and Minnie, Mrs. Earnest Miller, of near Denison.
Mr. and Mrs. Kahl lived in Corley until 1895 when they came to Crawford county, residing on a farm near Denison until 1918 when they retired to Denison, which has been their home ever since.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, the above mentioned children; eight grandchildren; one brother, William Kahl; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Mckeighan and Mrs. Dora Mundt all of California. Interment was made in the Zion Lutheran cemetery.
Cathrina Stuehr was born December 21, 1869 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She died in 1956.
